This Satirical Thriller

Steven Soderbergh challenges his directorial skills in this nifty supernatural story shot entirely from the viewpoint of a ghost. This is an entertaining concept that avoids overstaying, including a revelation you might not see coming. This Saturday, multiple showings, Sky Cinema

This Dramatic Portrait
In the struggle between God and Mammon, it's a knockout win for Mammon in Showalter's wonderfully garish biopic about the fallen religious broadcaster plus her lawbreaking partner. Garfield acts as the corrupt Bakker, who states initially, asserting religious justification for riches. He and Tammy Faye begin profiting from the nation's Christian beliefs. It's a riot of bad interior design, excessive cosmetics and insincerity, though Chastain achieves to present the real-life figure with compassion. Tuesday 14 October, 1.15am, on Film4
